FORENSIC CHEMISTRY LABORATORY MANUAL

FORENSIC SCIENCE IN THE INSTRUMENTAL ANALYSIS LABORATORY

This laboratory manual is designed to assist analytical and forensic chemistry faculty in developing forensic chemistry project laboratories for undergraduate and graduate courses. The manual provides a set of resources for ten common forensic chemistry analyses (see the hyperlinks at the left side of the page), including sample preparation, full procedures, brief (student) instructions, and typical results (data, graphs, calculated values). The manual also presents three crime scenarios that can be used as the vehicle/impetus for the chemical analysis project. The crime scenarios include investigators' reports, suspects' statements, and witnesses' statements.

To use the manual just click one of the links at the left side of the page. You need just an Internet browser and Adobe Acrobat to view the associated files.
